Spiritual leader of Dawoodi Bohra Muslims arrives in Sharjah for Eid Al Adha 2025
Sultan al Bohra Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin warmly welcomed by UAE officials and community members
SHARJAH: Sultan al Bohra Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the 53rd spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community, arrived in Sharjah this week to celebrate Eid Al Adha 2025.
His visit marks a significant moment for the community in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), many of whom had gathered to receive their leader with devotion and reverence.
He was warmly welcomed by Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai (IACAD), alongside government officials, dignitaries, and senior Dawoodi Bohra representatives. Syedna Saifuddin last visited the UAE in 2023 for the Moharram congregations held in Dubai.
Warm reception
“We are deeply honoured to welcome Sultan al Bohra Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin to Sharjah on the blessed occasion of Eid Al Adha,” said Dr Mustafa Taher, Coordinator for the Dawoodi Bohra community in Sharjah. “His frequent visits to the Emirates symbolise the strong bonds of respect and cooperation shared with the leadership of the UAE and his enduring concern for the well-being of community members living here.”
During his stay, Syedna Saifuddin is expected to meet members of the Dawoodi Bohra community to inquire about their well-being and offer counsel. He is also likely to meet with local leaders to discuss matters of mutual interest.
Lasting presence
The Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community has a longstanding presence in the UAE, with an estimated 25,000 members currently residing across the Emirates.
